A state court judge has dismissed the motor vehicle case against State Treasurer Denise Nappier.
Nappier was stopped in her state car by Hartford police on Sept. 1 in the city’s North End. When police ran her plates, they appeared to be unregistered. But prosecutors said that the car was in fact properly registered and insured — and that any paperwork errors were not Nappier’s responsibility.
Nappier didn’t appear in Hartford Superior Court Wednesday morning. She was represented by John Rose, one-time city attorney to former Hartford Mayor Eddie Perez. Rose called the entire affair “a very sad situation.”
Yes, Mr. Rose, it is “a very sad situation” that a well paid elected official is using a state car for personal use AND chauferring around a friend while she is at it…
