You know the news — political opponents of Mayor Pedro Segarra have raised concerns about his ethics disclosures to the city and whether or not he may be in violation federal housing requirements. Segarra has said that if he screwed up, he’d fix it, and he blamed the entire event on politics — saying he’s under attack from allies of convicted former Mayor Eddie Perez.
It now looks like he’s on to something.
According to campaign finance documents filed with the city this week, state representative and possible mayoral candidate Kelvin Roldan has been billed nearly $16,000 by Tremont Public Advisors — the firm of Matt Hennessy, Perez’s former chief of staff. And remember Derek Donnelly? He’s the guy who filed the initial FOI request that got the Segarra ethics disclosure issue rolling. He got paid $5,000.
We’ll have more tomorrow. I’ll try to update with documents later today, time permitting.
