Former State Representative Kenneth Green Endorses Shawn Wooden for Hartford Mayor

(Hartford, CT) –Former State Representative Kenneth Green today announced his endorsement of Shawn Wooden for Mayor of Hartford in the 2011 election.

“I am pleased to announce my support for Shawn Wooden, who as Mayor will bring vision and leadership to Hartford,” said Green.  “Hartford needs a strong leader who will tackle the challenges we face – improving our schools, creating and attracting more jobs.  I have known Shawn for many years and I have witnessed him develop into a leader with exactly the kind of deep vision and commitment that Hartford needs.  And, I am confident that Shawn will work collaboratively with all neighborhoods in this city to bring a new level of community spirit to this city.”

Representative Green served in the State Assembly from 1995-2011, representing the neighborhoods of Blue Hills and the West End.  He has been a tireless advocate for Hartford throughout his tenure and into the present day.

Shawn Wooden is an attorney at Day Pitney and long-time community advocate.  “I am proud to have the support of Representative Ken Green,” Wooden said.  “I look forward to continuing to work with him to address the issues facing Hartford’s families.  We all need to work together to bring about the change that the people of Hartford need.”
