It’s a good thing tonight’s debate wasn’t a Spanish proficiency test. Neither man would have passed.
But it was an interesting evening — at least, it was as far as we could tell from our perch outside the theater where the audio hookup was.
Here’s our story that will air in the morning (hence the “tonight” reference in regards to tomorrow’s debate). The debate was sponsored by the Hartford Courant and FOXCT, and was moderated by Courant editorial writer Tom Condon.
One interesting note that may just be interesting to reporters: Blumenthal skipped out on the post-debate media scrum, his aide saying that he had another event to go to. The aide offered up poor Nancy Wyman as a subsitute, which — nice as people said she may be — didn’t really fly. I’m sure we’ll hear more grumbling on this on Tuesday.
