I’ve just finished interviewing Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra and State Rep. Matt Ritter.
When I asked both of them why the tax bills that could have generated $8 million in revenue for the city failed, they each pointed a finger squarely at region’s chamber of commerce — The MetroHartford Alliance — and its leader, R. Nelson “Oz” Griebel. When I asked Segarra whether he had a chance to speak with Griebel, he said he hadn’t — and he needs some time to calm down before he does.
I’ve put in my own call to Griebel. I’m sure we’ll hear back. I’ll be speaking with Griebel later this afternoon. More today on the blog and tonight on the air.
That should teach him to exercise his Constitutional right to seek office.
